How Mosaic Helped Small Businesses Scale Online
A marketing program that created jobs and supported small businesses.
HOW WE DID IT
Small independent businesses and artists faced incredible challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, one of which was converting physical brick-and-mortar retail operations to e-commerce. To support these businesses, Digital Main Street partnered with Google, Facebook, MasterCard, Shopify, and more to help them convert their physical operations to e-commerce. The ShopHERE program, powered by Google, was created to provide independent small businesses with a quick, easy and no-cost way to get selling online right away.
To reach its goal of bringing 50,000 small businesses online, Digital Main St. partnered with the Mosaic team on a diversity and inclusion hiring strategy. Mosaic led the implementation of recruiting and training over 500 students and recent grads as resources for small business owners. Through pairing tech-savvy students and recent grads with small business owners, Mosaic helped provide businesses with the right tools and resources to get online, achieve digital transformation and maintain growth.
Mosaic’s Talent Acquisition team partnered with 10+ organizations, such as ADaPT and NPower, to build a diverse candidate pool of over 3,000 applicants. We created an operations infrastructure to support students deployed across the country. The team hosted live training sessions and curated a library of training materials, from e-commerce training to soft skills, available for coordinators to leverage throughout the program.
In just six weeks, the program generated an impressive $4.1+ MM in net new revenue growth. The ShopHERE program’s success allowed Mosaic to secure a new program and additional program expenditures. Mosaic’s efforts helped invigorate the small business economy and help independent sellers survive the pandemic.
