Mike Van Aken, Chief Human Resources Officer 

Mike Van Aken joined Acosta in 2021 as Chief Human Resources Officer. In his role, he leads all aspects of HR for Acosta Group’s global team of associates, including talent acquisition, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, total rewards, and engagement and recognition. 

Mike is an experienced leader with over 25 years of human resources experience across large public organizations, medium-sized privately held businesses and startups. Key leadership accomplishments include building diverse and high performing teams, designing total rewards and development programs to attract and engage top talent, and transforming HR functions to create a great associate experience.  

Mike earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, NY, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Fordham University in the Bronx. Mike is a St. Baldrick’s Foundation Squire of Hope and ambassador, and he also serves on the executive committee for the St. John’s Law Labor & Employment Center.
